Draining, spinning and sealed again.
A machine that stops mid-cycle turns into a full hamper within days. We watch it fail rather than reading stored codes, which stops the wrong part being fitted.
What we handle
Symptoms
Washer calls come down to water leaving, the drum staying balanced, or water arriving where it should not.
What you notice
What it usually means
Drum full, nothing draining
Something small has found the pump housing. Now and then the pump motor has failed, or the outlet hose is flattened where the unit was pushed against the wall.
Spin never reaching speed
A stretched or snapped belt on older designs, a sheared motor coupling on direct-drive, or a lid switch no longer confirming closed.
Water across the laundry floor
It escapes from the rubber boot, the fill connections, the shaft seal, or a split in the outer drum. We trace it back rather than replacing the obvious suspect.
Shaking hard enough to move
Bearings worn, suspension rods stretched, dampers finished. Left too long the tub takes damage and the job doubles.
Cycle abandoned partway
Either the lock fails to register, or the pressure sensor sends a value the controller cannot act on, and the wash halts where it stands.
Laundry soaked at the end
Spin never got there. Restricted drain, tired motor, or a load the machine could not balance on its own.
The visit
Loader type, model, and roughly where in the cycle it quits. That rules out half the possibilities.
Watching the moment it gives up beats any stored code. A misreading pressure switch imitates a dead pump perfectly.
Complete cost, including an honest word on whether a bearing job suits the age of the machine.
The part goes in and a full programme runs before we pack up, checking drain, spin and seal.
Codes
Washer codes concern water, balance and the motor more than anything else.
It is worth pulling the lower access flap and inspecting the trap before you arrange a visit. A fair proportion of drainage warnings come from exactly that spot, and removing the obstruction is free.
Brands
Inglis and Speed Queen turn up constantly in the rental stock, where machines run far harder than any manual assumes. Miele appears in the newer west-end builds. Pumps, belts and boot seals for the common models travel with us.
From customers
Our tenants are students and the machine failed during the first week of term. Out that afternoon, new shocks and drum bearing, running before the next tenant needed it.
It halted with the tub still full and water beginning to spread past the doorway. Pump cleared, test cycle finished, floor wiped before he left.
Where we work
Laundry calls across every neighbourhood on the list, with an arrival window tight enough to plan the day around.
